A secluded woodland in beautiful Welsh border country, close to the ancient Kerry Ridgeway.  It is a mixed woodland of broadleaves and conifers, which in recent years has been thinned to favour the broadleaves.  Species present include Douglas Fir, Larch and Sitka Spruce, as well as Oak, Rowan, Beech, Hazel, Wych Elm, Hawthorn, Sallow and Birch.  The conifers are beginning to mature and continued thinning will generate revenue and allow the wood to slowly revert to all broadleaf species. 

There are good tracks and paths throughout the wood and a large level hard standing area alongside the road. There is a small quarry in the lower corner of the wood which can be used as a source of additional track stone.
